Let’s Sew: Dashing Dress, Part 2

Hey Yall!

I am coming back to you with another version of the Dashing Dress by Ellie and Mac(affiliate link). You may remember the dress from my participation in the Day and Night Dress Challenge.

I decided to revisit the dress because I liked the collar. I think the collar is what makes this pattern unique. I did modify the dress a bit by lengthening the skirt to a maxi.

Now on to the Pattern Review:

Pattern Description: Ellie and Mac –Dashing Dress (PDF pattern)

Pattern Sizing: XXS-3XL

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Were the instructions easy to follow? Is there anything you dislike about the pattern?: The dress looked exactly like it did on the pattern envelope. The instructions were very simple, yet detailed enough that I didn’t have to guess anything.

Fabric UsedLiverpool from La Finch Fabrics

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I decided to lengthen the skirt for this dress. I felt that this dress in a maxi would be more comfortable.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would definitely sew this dress again. I would even use this design to create for my customers. It is simple with no closures, so that really makes it a great seller.

Conclusion: I absolutely loved this pattern. I still didn’t go down a size on the bodice as I said that I would before. It was kinda boxy on me, but the cinched belt on my waist brought the whole look together.
