Hey Y’all

Ok, so there has been is much going on lately that it literally had me to want to take a social media break.

COVID-19

RIOTS.

HURRICANES.

Presidential Elections.

Living in the South, I am a few hours away from the Gulf Coast. The year 2020 has brought numerous hurricanes this year, more than what we have normally experienced in any hurricane season. I pray that for any of my followers who were in the paths of any hurricanes, that both you and your families are ok. I know that this season has been extremely difficult to maneuver through, but I pray that you remain strong.

I love to sew to get my mind off anything that could cause stress. I know that it has helped me significantly. Hopefully you have found healthy ways to keep your mind off the chaos as well. I fell in love with one of Ellie and Mac’s newest patterns: The Cuddle Tunic and Dress. Its a bonus for any sewists that may have daughters! You now can create great Mommy and Me Sets.

Cuddle Tunic, Ellie and Mac

Here is the Review:

Pattern: Adult Cuddle Tunic and Dress, Ellie and Mac

Pattern Sizing: Large

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? The finished product looked exactly like the drawing on the envelope.

Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were very easy to follow. If there is any confusion, there are pictures that accompany the instructions. Ellie and Mac also features video sew alongs that for their patterns as well.

Is there anything you dislike about the pattern? No.

Fabric Used: Double Brushed Poly, Knit Fabric, WalMart

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made no changes to the pattern. I sewed exactly as the patterns instructed, minus the top stitching.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would definitely sew this top again. I loved the final product!

Conclusion: I saw the finished garments from other sewists in the Ellie and Mac Facebook group. I loved how each person sewed it to their personal tastes. The various colors and textures of fabrics made me really want to get started with own version. As I walked through the aisles of Walmart, I came upon the pre-cut fabrics and saw three yards of this beautiful floral fabric. I immediately knew I would put it to use for the Cuddle Tunic. I sewed the entire garment on my serger. I only used my sewing machine in order to sew a basting stitch for gathering the bishop sleeve. I love that Ellie and Mac added bishop sleeves to their patterns. The top is so diverse with a variety of options for the neckline and sleeves.
