I am reviewing the Autumn Spice Top, and it is an Ellie and Mac pattern. I love this top for many reasons, but my number 1 is: I ONLY USED MY SCRAPS TO MAKE IT! We, as sewist, know that certain fabrics are just too pretty to throw away. I mean, we can always repurpose that small scrap piece, right? Pattern Sizing: I cut a size Large throughout.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, it did.
Were the instructions easy to follow? I can honestly say that this was one of the easiest sews I’ve ever had.
Is there anything you dislike about the pattern? No, there is nothing to dislike.
Fabric Used: Top Portion: Double Brushed Poly; Middle Portion: Ponte Knit; Bottom Portion: Mystery Knit
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I didnt make any changes to the pattern. I sewed it as is.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I know I will sew a few of these. I will definitely sew it again because of the ease and time used to create it.
Conclusion: I think this is a great top. It has so many creative possibilities due to the many colors you may use for each portion of the top. The version I chose was the Above Bust, Short-Sleeve Top. It also has a long sleeve version, which will be very useful in the winter.
